Splint

Splints may be recommended to help manage clenching, grinding, jaw discomfort, or related symptoms in some patients. Splints are made to fit either the upper or lower teeth, to reduce contact between the upper and lower teeth. They are worn when sleeping or during the day when teeth grinding is mostly likely to occur, to help reduce tooth wear and ease pressure on the jaw in some cases. Splints may help reduce the effects of grinding or clenching and support more comfortable jaw positioning during sleep or at other times when recommended.

Night Guard

A night guard is a custom-made device you wear while sleeping to reduce direct contact between the upper and lower teeth during sleep. It acts as a soft barrier that helps cushion pressure and may reduce wear over time. Teeth grinding called bruxism, can cause tooth damage, headaches, and jaw discomfort over time, therefore night guard may help reduce tooth wear and lessen pressure on the jaw. Night guard is custom-made to improve fit and comfort compared with some ready-made alternatives.
